The Improvidores curriculum is built from the teachings of many great Improvisers before us. Here are some of the main resources we use for our current curriculum.
1. Improvisation for the Theater - Viola Spolin
¨The Improv Bible¨, This book is an obvious choice. It's a classic, and is a must have for anyone wanting to get into Improv. Though it is older, it still sets some great ground rules for Improv, and is definitely a great place to start for beginners.
2. UCB Improvisation Manual - Matt Walsh, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts
UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade) is another comedy improv troupe started by Matt Walsh, Amy Poehler, Matt Besser, and Ian Roberts. They are an incredible comedy institution and training center, and they put out some of the best live comedy shows available. Every page of this book is a masterclass of Improv, which is why it is our main source for our curriculum.
